The 4,000er Route June 2009
Stage 1 – Friday 19th June 2009
Day 1 – Cairngorm Ski Centre to Lairig Ghru
From the Cairngorm Ski Centre to the summit of Cairngorm. Continue over the plateau to Ben MacDui and drop down to Corrour Bothy for the night.
4,000er count - 2 DISTANCE – 13 miles
Day 2 - Lairig Ghru to Cairngorm Ski Centre
From Corrour Bothy, climb up the Coire Odhar and then to the Devil’s Point. From here a complete traverse of Cairn Toul, Sgor an Locahin Uaine and Braeriach. From the summit of Braeraich, head NE back to the Lairig Ghru, through the Chalamain Gap back the Ski Centre.

Stage 2 – Tuesday 30th June
Day 1 – Dalwhinnie to Loch Pattack
From the Dalwhinnie Inn, cycle the 11 miles to Culra Bothy and ditch the bike at Culra Bothy. Head up the NE ridge of Carn Dearg and continue on to the summits of Geal Charn and Aonach Beag. Head W above Lochan a Charra Mhoir and the summit of Beinn Eibhinn. Descend via Mullach Coire nan Nead to Strath Ossian and camp on the SW end of Loch Ghuilbinn.
MUNRO count - 4 DISTANCE - 18 miles
Day 2 – Loch Ghuilbinn to Corrour
From the loch, climb W then SW to the summit of Chno Dearg and continue on a track to Stob Coire Sgriodain. Head back to Chno Dearg, then descend SW via Meall Garbh towards a railway bridge, finishing at the railway staion.

Stage 3 – Thursday 9th July 2009
Day 1 – Corrour to Lairig Leacach
From the station, head towards Loch Treig and cross the Allt na Lairige past the falls of Easan Dubh. Head N and climb to the summit of Stob Coire Easain. Continue on to the summit of Stob a Choire Mheadhoin. Retrace the route back into the Lairig Leacach and camp by the bothy.

Day 2 – Lairig Leacach to Sgurr Choinnich Bearg
Climb Stob Ban and traverse the Grey Corries. Camp to the W of Sgurr Choinnich Bearg, 750m. Simple!!
MUNRO count – 4 DISTANCE – 6 miles
Day 3 – Sgurr Choinnich Bearg to Fort William
From the bealach head up to Aonach Bearg then over to Aonach Mhor. Drop about 400m to below the east ridge of Carn Mor Dearg then climb the 400m to the summit. Cross the CMD Arete and climb up the southern slopes to the summit of Ben Nevis. Descend via the Mountain Track to the safety of the Ben Nevis Inn!!
