To donate to the Oban and Arrochar Mountain Rescue Teams, simply click the Charity Choice link and follow the instructions.  The funds donated will be split 50/50 between the 2 teams. Please remember that these teams heavily rely on your donations to cover their annual running costs. They each receive a grant from the Scottish Government, but in Oban’s case, this amounts to one third of their £30,000 annual costs. The shortfall is made up from assistance from The St John’s Ambulance Service, grants from the Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland and other organisations and running home-baking stalls at Highland Games and the like. While I appreciate that you may donate to your local MRT, please remember that Oban and Arrochar are not one of the big-name teams and you may have to rely on them in the future, although I hope not!!

If you wish to donate to the Northern Police Treatment Centre, there are several ways to do this. If you are booked in for treatment or find yourself having treatment in the next 7 months, there will be sponsor forms in the Physio Departments at Auchterarder and Harrogate. There is also a Charity Choice link on their website. If you use this method, please leave a comment on my blog so I can keep a running total. Alternatively, you can contact myself or the BTP Scottish Area Press Officer, David Hodgson, by email on the internal network or email me direct at

Please leave a message of support whether you donate or not!!

If anyone wishes sponsor forms or can help with fund-raising in any way, whether actively or suggestions please get in touch.

Sincere thanks
