Coire Achaladair taken from Cannoch Wood

Coire Achaladair taken from Crannach Wood

Thought I’d better start brightning the site up with some photos!! Like the one on the right, for example. This is the Coire Achaladiar taken in November 2008 at about 1730. Me and Michael still had another 4 hours in there!!!
Beinn Achaladair

Beinn Achaladair

A more appealing picture taken from Rannoch Moor. Beinn an Dothaidh is on the right and Meall Buidhe on the left. The Coire that I fell into is to the left of centre.
Coire an Lochan a'Chreachain

Coire an Lochan a'Chreachain

I took this picture when I returned to finish off the 2 mountains in Nov08. The summit of Beinn a’Chreachain is out of view to the left. This was the corrie that Oban MRT had been advised was the correct location. If the helicopter hadn’t picked out our pmobile phones and changed the MRTs direction, we would’ve had a much longer and possibly fatal, wait!!

I took the photograph on the left on the day I fell. Meall Bhuidh is in the foreground with Beinn a’Chreachain further back. Although there wasn’t much snow about, it was very windy and cold……. oh and there was a wee bit of ice about too!!

We took some members of the Oban Mountain Rescue Team to lunch at The Bridge of Orchy Hotel on the first anniversary. That’s me and Michael in the middle. It good to meet the guys and to hear their version of events, especially snippets that I hadn’t heard before. A humbling experience.
